What we listen to…

Decided t take this page in a slightly different direction. All of our music showcased on this page will be albums bought for 808 from our lovely neighbors, Breakaway Records….

Here is this month’s featured albums!

As you can imagine, music is the driving force of our work day so it’s easy to fall into a musical rut. With long shifts the amount of music we consume is massive… It would be fair to say that we’ve worn the grooves off numerous albums.

I’ve included this page to not only share what motivates us daily but also as a challenge to ourselves mix it up.

Stay out of the rut!

Always open to recs, we never take requests…

In Rotation-

Originally from Chicago Little Ann recorded this in Detroit 1967, of course, as most soul from this era. The opening track is haunting with romantic swing enticing anyone into a kitchen snogfest…. The recording is raw and delicious.

Not even ashamed at this one, not one bit…. if you haven’t caught on by now there’s still time. This album is infectious and Guess, featuring Billy Eilish, is a banger… Can we talk about the packaging? Its perfect, di-cut, gatefold, printer paper, smokey grey clear vinyl… it has it all.

A very stripped down version of electro-punk. Rap? A very disappointed Englishman goes on about the shortcomings of the world with a twinge of dark humor… probably the most truly punk shit to come out in a bit…
